2004
[edit]It is hinted that abolition was proposed in 2004, but it says nothing about how the proposal ended. Twenty years have passed, he will have had a resolution by now. (probably keep, as it still exists, but a few sentences about the debate and decision would be informative) 93.149.231.250 (talk) 00:13, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
John Oliver did not turn down the OBE in 2022 - it was prior to 2020
[edit]In the cited interview John Oliver noted the offer of the OBE was before he got his US Citizenship. John Oliver got his citizenship in December of 2019, so this would have occurred no later than 2019, not 2022. 67.166.251.125 (talk) 02:46, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

First line needs attention
[edit]The first line states 'The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organizations, and public service outside the civil service. It comprises five classes of awards across both civil and military divisions ...'
That seems to say that the civil service and military are excluded except for 'contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organizations, and public service outside the civil service.' Anthony Staunton (talk) 04:53, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
